Seascape Deck Glossary

Every venue, every deck · Aurea-tailored
Tap a deck below to jump. Gold ★ = Aurea access unlocks something.

How to read this guide

Every venue has four pieces of info: Hours, Dress, Access (who can go in), and Best time (when it's least crowded or most atmospheric). Tips are crowd-avoidance tactics or insider moves.

Aurea perks at a glance: Skyline & Aegean MDRs (Deck 7), Top 19 Solarium (Deck 19), Aurea Thermal Suite (Deck 8) — free access once/day with reservation, free room service, priority boarding, 10% off spa.

Note: There is no Deck 17 on MSC Seascape. Italian maritime superstition — the Roman numeral XVII can rearrange to VIXI ("I have lived" — used as a tomb inscription). Decks skip from 16 directly to 18. Don't look for it on the elevator panel.

Mykonos

Aurea MDRs · Casino · Theatre upper · Cabaret

The nightlife & Aurea floor. Casino mid-ship, Chora Theatre upper entry, and — critically — your two Aurea dining rooms Skyline and Aegean. At the aft, Le Cabaret Rouge.

Skyline Restaurant
AureaMDRIncluded

Your primary Aurea MDR. My Choice dining = walk in anytime in window, no reservations, no assigned table. Classic 7-night rotating MDR menu with themed nights (Gala, Italian, Caribbean, Mediterranean).

Tip: Walk-in peaks are 6:30 (pre-show) and 8:00 (post-early-show). 7:15 is a sweet spot. Tell the hostess if you'd like a window table — they'll work it.
Aegean Restaurant
AureaMDRIncluded

Second Aurea MDR — identical menu to Skyline but opens 30 min earlier at 5:30. Tends to run a hair quieter than Skyline. This is the specific room tagged as "Aurea My Choice Dining" in MSC literature.

Tip: Aegean's earlier open is your move after a port day — eat at 5:45, be out by 7, catch the 7 PM show or sail-away.
The Casino
Gaming

Full casino — slots, blackjack, roulette, poker. The only casino on the ship. Smoking is allowed (there's a small non-smoking section but the air carries). Opens only when ship is out of US/Mexican territorial waters.

Mediterranea ★

Specialty dining · Aurea Spa · Gym · Infinity Pool · Promenade

The most important deck on the ship for Aurea. All 5 specialty restaurants. The entire 2,410 m² MSC Aurea Spa & Thermal Suite complex (your free wellness perk). The gym. The wraparound outdoor promenade. The adults-only aft Infinity Pool. Loft Café. Hola! Tacos. Uptown Lounge. You'll spend more time on Deck 8 than any other deck besides 9 (your cabin deck) and 19 (Solarium).

Butcher's Cut Steakhouse
Specialty

American steakhouse by celebrity-chef partner. Wet-aged ribeye, NY strip, filet, bone-in tomahawk. Wine list, premium sides. Most consistently-raved-about specialty restaurant on the ship.

HoursLunch 12:00–2:30 PM (select days)

Tip: Set price dinner includes 1 starter, 1 entrée, 1 dessert — additional items at ~50% of à la carte. Sea-day brunch is a lower-cost way to experience the kitchen if you want a peek before committing to dinner.
Ocean Cay Restaurant
Specialty

Mediterranean seafood concept by Spanish chef Ramon Freixa (2 Michelin stars). Branzino, Dover sole, shellfish, crudo. Elegant coastal vibe. A shade more adventurous than Butcher's Cut and plates are more composed.

Tip: If you want AYCE, arrive 5 min before your slot starts — the 45-min clock is strict. Green plates = cheapest; red/gold plates = premium.
Kaito Teppanyaki
Specialty

Tableside chef performance by Roy Yamaguchi — hibachi-style cooking for 6–8 guests around a shared grill. Meats, seafood, fried rice, dramatic flips and fire. Available à la carte at ~$49 pp or included in the Duo (2-meal), Trio (3-meal), or Quattro (4-meal) specialty packages.

Watch out: communal seating means you'll share a table with strangers. Fun if you're social, less so if you want a date night — consider Ocean Cay or Butcher's Cut instead for a quieter 2-top.
Hola! Tacos & Cantina
Specialty

Casual Mexican — tacos, burritos, nachos, fresh salsas, margaritas. AYCE lunch/dinner is the best $17.99 on the ship. Loud, lively, no reservations needed most of the time.

Cabin 9024 (yours)
Deluxe Balcony Aurea

Starboard side (even-numbered = starboard on MSC), forward-midship. The 9024 number puts you well away from the aft pool noise that some aft Deck 9 cabins report. Deluxe Balcony Aurea: ~172–183 sq ft room + 54–97 sq ft balcony.

Elevators — Forward, Midship, Aft
Ship infra

Three elevator banks serve Deck 9. Smart elevator system: press your floor N times for N people. Midship bank is usually fastest.

Tip: during dinner hours (6–7:30 PM) and show hours (8:45–9:15 PM), wait times spike. Walk one deck up or down and catch a less-crowded elevator from there.

Cabin Decks

Cabins only — no public venues

Decks 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 are all cabin decks. Mixed categories: Inside, Deluxe Balcony, Deluxe Balcony Aurea (decks 14 & 15 as well), and various Aurea suite tiers.
